Based on an original American 1940s evening gown - this dress is a pattern genius. Note the deep shoulder tucks creating a deep plunging neckline and which flow into a fan of darts into the waist. Mirrored by the iconic 1940s peg style skirt which enhances the hips and cascades to the floor. The skirt is a wrap style but modesty retained via a few stitches just above the knee.

Shoulder pads enhance the bust and create that iconic 1940s silhouette to enhance the waist which is nipped in via self covered belt.
